M16 Bolt Carrier Group — Complete, Nitride
Complete full-auto profile M16 bolt carrier group in nitride, shot peened and MPI'd, staked gas key. 5.56 NATO / .223 Rem.
Limit 5 per order.
Part no. CMT-BCG-M16-NITRIDE
A complete M16-profile carrier group, assembled and ready to drop into a 5.56 upper. Full-auto profile means the carrier carries its full mass and the rear of the carrier is not cut away — it runs in a semi-automatic rifle exactly as any other carrier does, and the extra mass helps the rifle settle down.
Nitride, not phosphate. The finish is a surface conversion rather than a coating, so it does not add thickness, does not flake, and wipes clean with far less effort than a parkerised carrier. Carbon comes off the tail of the bolt with a rag instead of a pick.
What you get
- Complete carrier group: carrier, bolt, cam pin, firing pin, firing pin retaining pin
- Full-auto (M16) carrier profile — legal and correct in a semi-automatic rifle
- Gas key torqued and properly staked to the carrier
- Bolt shot peened and magnetic particle inspected
- Nitride finish inside and out
Fitment
- 5.56 NATO and .223 Rem AR-15 uppers
- Standard mil-spec gas tube and charging handle
- Not for 7.62x39, .458, or large-frame AR-10 platforms
Before the first range trip. Check the gas key staking, confirm the firing pin retaining pin is fully seated, and run the bolt through the barrel extension by hand to confirm it locks up without drag. Lubricate the carrier rails and the bolt body — a dry carrier is the most common cause of a short-stroking rifle.
