Barrel Nut Replacement — with Wrench
Replacement barrel nut for CMT free-float handguards, supplied with the matching wrench. No timing, no shims.
Limit 10 per order.
Part no. CMT-BARREL-NUT
The barrel nut a CMT free-float handguard clamps to, supplied with the wrench that fits it. This is the part that does the work in a free-float rail: the nut carries the handguard, and the handguard never touches the barrel.
It does not have to be timed. A conventional barrel nut has to end up clocked so a gas tube can pass through it, which is where shim stacks and re-torquing cycles come from. CMT's does not — torque it to spec, pass the gas tube, slide the rail on and clamp it.
Installation
- Mil-spec AR-15 upper receiver threads
- Use the supplied wrench with a torque wrench — not a breaker bar
- Grease the receiver threads before the first pull
- Torque to the figure in your handguard's instructions
Check the fit before you buy. Replacement hardware has to match the part it is going into. Installed or modified parts cannot be returned.
