Made by shooters, for shooters.

Every receiver and every rail we sell is programmed, cut, and finished by us, in our own shop, in Tennessee. Made, not merchandised: we do not job it out and we do not put our name on somebody else's part.

Our mission

To put a high quality product in our customers' hands — one they are excited to own and to use in any environment they find themselves in. The standards we hold our parts to come straight from the expectations our customers hold us to.

Made by shooters, for shooters. The people who program these machines spend their weekends at the range with the rifles built on this floor. Those rifles get run hard — in the heat, in the dirt and in the rain — by people who know what a gun should feel like when it works and notice the moment it does not. That is the product testing that tells us the truth, and it is why the details we care about — a magwell that drops a magazine when your hands are cold, a barrel nut that goes on right the first time and stays put — are the details that survive into production.

By using the latest machining technologies on our AR receivers, we build to exceed military standards, so that what you start your build on is the best possible base. Every part is made in America, and Cross Machine Tool Co., Inc. is a veteran owned business. The team here takes real pride in what goes in the box.

We would rather lose a sale than ship a part we would not run ourselves. That is the whole standard. Everything below is how we hold it.

The floor

Programming, machining, and finishing all happen under one roof. A part does not travel between vendors, which means nobody can hand us a bad lot and nobody can blame the last guy.

Cut on our own machines

Receivers and rails are cut in our own shop on CNC machining centres, by our own people. A part does not travel between vendors, which means nobody can hand us a bad lot and nobody can blame the last guy. Holding a part through as few setups as possible is what keeps the features that matter to each other in relationship — the barrel extension bore to the receiver face, the takedown pin holes to the magwell, the rail slots to the top rail.

In-house programming

Toolpaths are written here, by the people who own the result. When a part needs a different lead-in, a slower finishing pass, or a different cutter to stop chatter in a thin rail wall, that change happens the same day instead of going into a vendor's queue.

Finishing

Receivers and rails are finished in Type III hardcoat anodize to MIL-A-8625, Class 2. Our TANO and DRT earth tones vary slightly from batch to batch. That is the nature of the process, not a defect — and it is why matched receiver sets are finished together as a set rather than pulled from two different runs.

Inspection

Parts are measured against the print, not against the last one that shipped. Anything outside the print does not get sold as first quality. Cosmetic seconds are sold honestly as blems, at a discount, labelled as such — never quietly mixed into first-quality stock.

The community we build for

We are veteran owned and we are in Tennessee, where the people running these machines live down the road from the shop. A job here is a job for somebody's family, which is a large part of why the work does not get sent offshore to save a dollar a part.

We shoot what we make

Not a line in a brochure. At the range, most weekends, running the same parts we sell. If something we make is going to fail, we would rather find out ourselves than read about it in your email.

We answer emails

Questions about fitment, gas length, or whether a rail clears your gas block go to people who have actually installed one, and they write back themselves. If we do not know, we will say so rather than guess at your barrel's expense.

We work through dealers

Serialized receivers ship to your FFL, and we support the dealers and gunsmiths who handle those transfers. They are part of how this industry works, not an obstacle to route around.

We ship straight

Non-FFL products leave within two business days. FFL items ship within three or more business days of us receiving your dealer's licence. If something is going to take longer, we would rather tell you than let a tracking number stay quiet.

We stand behind the part

Every receiver and rail carries our warranty against manufacturing defects. If we made it wrong, we make it right — that is not a policy document, it is the reason to buy from a shop that still owns its machines.

What we will not do

Build on it.

Billet receivers, UHPR handguards, and Plan B suppressor mounts, cut on our floor.
